Wings Workshop Layout

The other day I mentioned that I was hosting a night to do the Wings Workshop on the Go, this is what I came up with! I of course tweaked the layout to my liking but stayed with the basic concept.
I thought the paper would be perfect for some old pictures of my grandma, and I love how it turned out! The photo on the first page is from when she was sixteen and is one of my all time favorite pictures. The ones on the opposite page are from when she was one year old and the other is her and my grandpas wedding photo when she was seventeen. I included the ages and dates on the little metal tabs beside the pictures (which are too small to see the detail in any of these photos).
I love mixin' it up by doing some heritage layouts in my regular year to year albums. They are so much fun to do, and a great way to show off some fabulous old photos!

Supplies used (all CTMH):
- Wings Paperpack
- Wings Stampset
- Black Mini Medley Collection
- Vineyard Berry, Black, and Sweet Leaf Inks
- Bohemian Alphabet Stampset
- Find Your Style Stampset

Hope everyone is having a great Monday! Happy craftin'!

Butterfly Canvas'

I just finished these canvas' last night! My husband has been encouraging me do some paintings for the new house (that we should be moving into at the end of March). This is my first piece of art out of three that I have planned. The size of canvas' used are 12 x 28 inches and the paint is acrylic. I did the background and considered leaving it the way it was(a little chicken to screw it up with other stuff) but decided that Monarch butterflies would be a nice touch, not to mention cheery!

The background pre-butterflies.

Finished Canvas #2

I have many more projects in mind for the new house so hopefully in the next month or so there will be tons of posts coming your way! Happy crafting!

Chai Latte Encourages Blog Update

While sipping a Chai Latte out of my favorite vintage mug, I have been working on updating my blog. So in the next few days I should have everything up and running the way I want, so bear with me as a few changes are made!

Sidenote: Lucky me! Chai Latte's are my coffee replacement with this pregnancy. Last time I could drink uber amounts of coffee and not feel anything (but normal), this time around however the baby is not as cooperative, *boo hoo*! So after fighting coffee-withdrawal-headaches for a couple of weeks I have discovered that Chai Latte's are a great alternative!

Wings Card, Thinking of You

A card I made recently using the new Wishes paper pack from Close to my Heart. This card was fun to make because I had a certain person in mind and wanted to make it special!
I stamped the background cardstock with the damask image from the Wings stampset, and I love how it turned out! I also used the same stamp on the inside of the card with the Sweet Leaf Ink. I two-toned the butterfly from the Find Your Style stamp set for the front and popped it up.
Come to think of it saying I used the paper pack is kind of a stretch because the only piece of pattern paper I used was for the paper ruffle, the rest is cardstock!

Supply list:
- Wishes Paper Pack
- Vineyard Berry, Sweet Leaf, and Colonial White Cardstock
- Vineyard Berry, Sweet Leaf, and Black Ink
- White Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, and heating gun
- Find Your Style stamp set (butterfly on front, high-heel shoe and sentiment on envelope)
- Wings stamp set (background stamping on front and inside)
- Childhood Portrait stamp set (sentiment on front)
- True Friends stamp set (inside sentiment)
- Sparkles*
- Black Mini medley collection
- Paper flowers*

* not Close to my Heart product

I get to do the Wings Workshop tomorrow night with a few girlfriends so I'm really looking forward to that! Hopefully I'll have some photos to post...

..and it became a pillow

So a few posts back I had showed this embroidery piece and at that point I hadn't decided what to do with it yet. I finally decided to make it a little cushion and here is the finished product! I used scraps that I had in my fabric pile, they are from fat quarters sold at Walmart. I then made a felt flower and attached it to the pillow with embroidery floss and a big yellow button.

Happy Crafting!

Guess what?....I'm so Crafty I make People!

So I decided to share my news with the blogging world, I am expecting our second child!!(someone had guessed earlier in the diaper bag post, but I didn't want to give up my secret just yet) I'm Due at the beginning of July! I had my first ultrasound today and got to see the little sweetie kickin' and movin' around, which was pretty exciting because my daughter was always asleep during her ultrasounds! Here's a picture of me taken yesterday, I am 19 weeks!

I'm getting pretty excited about decorating the babies room, but as we are not finding out the gender it is making things a little tricky! My daughter has been in a gender neutral room since she has been born so I am looking forward to decorating her big girl room as well! I love when my daughter naps, so I can get projects done, but I am slowing down because I too need a nap! Luckily she still has two naps a day(knock-on-wood, cross-the-fingers...and toes!) and I only have one! So many projects so little time....

Isn't this just awesome! The inspiration for my title, curtesy of google images.I first saw this as a friends facebook profile picture, I just love it!

Just had to share this pic of my little-big girl yesterday in her Valentine's Day outfit!

Hope everyone had a romantic Valentine's day with your sweetheart!

So Exciting!

Two exciting things happened today! First off my fabric that I had ordered from the states on Monday came (way faster than I thought)! I was so pumped when I saw the UPS lady! My husband even mentioned later in the day that getting fabric in the mail had me in a really great mood, good thing, now I can order more haha! I had to lay it out right away and have a good long look at it, thinking about all the possibilities...
This is what I ordered:

- brown jumbo ricrac
- pink flannel
- blueish/grey Damask home decor weight fabric
- two Jelly Rolls - Amy Butler Soul Blossoms Collection
- Passion Lily/Cerise Pink from the Amy Butler Soul Blossoms Collection

I love love love Amy Butlers new Soul Blossoms Collection, I had to include a couple more pics:

I got this material to make my girlie a quilt for her toddler bed, which she will be moving into in the next couple of months tear,tear...

OK enough of my fabric celebration! On to.... a Blog Award!

Thank you to the fabulous Becky B. for honoring me with this award! She always has a kind word to share with me and her crafts and recipes are amazing! She is just so inspirational, please check out her blog, Scrappin' Becky B.

So the deal is that you have to pass the award on to Five blogs and say what you like about them and their blogs, which believe me was hard to do! Here are the winners of the lovely Tinkerbell badge! In no particular order:

-Laurel at Little Piece of My Heart : She is just so darn creative! I absolutely love her paperbag albums and have vowed to myself to make one! Her tutorials are just great and very instructive!

-Megann at Boutique Nutmeg Designs : I'm starting to do a little more sewing and Meganns blog is an amazing help with her free tutorials and patterns. She has made many cute projects, I especially like her adorable doll quilts!

-Jen at Scissors & Spatulas : I actually just stumbled upon Jen's blog recently, and I love her witty and fun home decor projects! Definitely inspirational!

-Jackie and Michelle at A Creative Operation : These ladies pump out the projects not to mention the mini albums! I love that they include a lot of tutorials on their blog! A great place to go for gift ideas!

-Amy at Amy's Art from the Heart : If you are a Close to my Heart fan, Amy has beautiful projects using their product. She is very creative, I really enjoy seeing her new posts and what she comes up with!

Anyways now is the time to wrap up this very long post! I had a really great day, hope you did too!

Baby Boy Shower Invites

Back when I was making all those cards for that sale a friend had called me to see if I had any baby boy cards that I would be willing to sell her so she could give them as shower invites. It was kind of ironic because I had started these cards the night before and was finishing them that evening that she had contacted me. A couple of tweeks and instead of being congrats cards they ended up being what she needed, baby shower invites!

The supplies I used (all Close to my Heart unless otherwise listed):
- Love You Forever stampset
- Love Begins with a Smile stampset (from Topstitch WOTG)
- Topstitch Paper Pack
- Heavenly Blue, Chocolate, Sweet Leaf, and Creme Brulee Inks
- Spring Button Assortment
- Colonial White Mini Medley Collection
- Chocolate ribbon
- Blending Pen
*non CTMH: American Crafts Brand Baby Stampset- 'Babyshower' sentiment

I made two of each of the cards below:

Cassoulet 'Come Dine With Me' Style

I have been really into the show 'Come Dine With Me' lately (I prefer the UK version,it's the accents, but the Canada one is good too!). It is a TV show that features five strangers that put on a dinner party for each other throughout a weeks time. Each host is judged on food, hosting ability, and over all feel of the night. A secret score out of ten is given by all the guests at the end of the night. The host with the highest score at the end of the week wins a thousand dollars. Anyways this show is usually on late at night and makes me hungry! A convenient thing is they have most of the recipes posted on the networks website (the W network).

My husband and I were having another couple over for supper and he suggested we make a dish from the show. We decided to make Creative Cassoulet from one of the recent 'Come Dine With Me Canada' episodes. It is a dish with Chicken legs and English sausage cooked in a wine sauce with lentils and Pancetta. I had never tried anything like this before and it was a little challenging since I had never heard of some of the ingredients! Anyways after hunting the ingredients down and borrowing a cooking pot, it was a success! ...although I'm not sure how good I would have scored, thankfully it was just a fun night with friends!

And our lovely guests brought a bottle of wine and these beautiful tulips! A little taste of spring they said...

Cutesy Cupcakes!

Aren't these soooo cute!! A valentine's gift of cozy socks wrapped up in a yummy mock-cupcake!
I got this fabulous idea from Becky B.'s Blog and did her tutorial found here . I had to do a couple things the hard way, for instance: hand punching the scalloped edge with a corner rounder AND hand crimping the paper by indenting lines on both sides than folding(so not fun!). It was worth it though cause they turned out so cute! Also I didn't have pompoms on hand so I used red buttons instead. I also added a cute little heart tag and voila, a treat for your feet!

A picture of my random stamped cardstock (my first ever), I was happy with the way it turned out! I used Close to my Heart stamps: Love Is and Cherished Flourishes. (sorry the pic is so dark!)

The finished product, don't you just wanna eat em':
