You Warm My Heart

These were the Valentine's day cards I made to sell at the home based business show that was yesterday (a post coming shortly to tell about the 'dud' event). Luckily, I have quite a few leftover so I don't need to make anymore to give away at Valentine's!
I found the basic idea for the front on the CTMH bulletin board. I just love the A Sip stamp set, and adding the hearts from the A Game stamp set just made it that much cuter! I also embossed the spoon in silver, popped up two of the hearts, and added bitty sparkles for some bling. On the inside I adhered a teabag packet with a belt of cardstock just to add something extra. Stamped a matching envelope and tada, a valentine for someone who 'warms your heart'!

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
- A Sip stamp set
- A Game stamp set
- Holiday Hoopla stamp set
- Friendship Alphabet stamp set
- Cranberry, Colonial White, and Blush cardstock
- Cranberry, Baby Pink, and Hollyhock Ink
- Patterened Paper from Route 66 paper packet
- 3D dots
- Silver embossing powder, Versamark ink, and Heat Gun
- Bitty Sparkles

...more Valentines projects coming soon!

Somethin' Different

To take a break from my card set posts, I thought I would share another project I've been working on. I did this embroidery piece before Christmas and have been undecided on what to do with it from this point. My thoughts are either to frame it or to get some fun fabric together and make a cushion cover....any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You Rock Card Set

One of the two card sets featuring the You Rock Paper Pack from Close To My Heart. Another Birthday theme set, I used the A Little Everything and the Just Be You stamp sets. For embellishments I used the Outdoor Denim Mini Medley Collection as well as a couple of rhinestones and Liguid Glass. I also did a little bit of white embossing. The inks I used are Goldrush, Smokey Plum, and Dutch Blue.

It's been snowing here for the past few days so although I am getting some cards done I am also starting to get a little bit of cabin fever. Going to the grocery store just doesn't cut it as an outing, haha. Anyways happy crafting!

January, the month of making cards...

At the end of the month I'm going into a Valentine's home based business show. Lately I've been working on cardsets to sell there in addition to the new product I'll be showing from the new Close To My Heart catalogue. I'm going to be doing some really sweet Valentines day cards which will be posted at a later date but for the next little while I'll be posting the latest cardsets featuring different retired Close To My Heart paper packs.

First Off is the Magic Moments Paperpack! I was able to get seven cardsets (each containing three 4.25 x 5.5 cards and matching envelopes) by doing the Just Because Card Workshop out of the Wishes book. I did two sets of every theme, the one that I am going to share today is what I call 'Sending Buggy Wishes'. This features the A little Buzz Stampset and is cards 4,5 and 8 from the workshop. The images are stamped with StazOn ink and the bugs are lifted off of the page with 3D dots.

Diaper Bag

Another homemade gift I made! This one for my sister who just had a baby boy a couple of months ago. An easy and practical tote style diaper bag! I made it out of a fabric that had 'boy' colors but a feminine pattern. The inside has four pockets, two on each side, great for diapers and other baby things. I think I need to make another one soon for myself!

Both Gifts are YUMMY!

Does my mother in law know me or what? As a little Christmas gift she gave me the latest Vanity Fair magazine featuring the flaming hot Johnny Depp as well as two appropriately named chocolate bars. Johnny Depp is so stinking good looking! I admitted that I almost bought the magazine for myself but reasoned that buying it for the cover picture alone wasn't a viable excuse. So I was pumped when she bought it for me! The chocolate bars were named Eclipse and New Moon, which as a Twilight fan I appreciated, besides who can go wrong with chocolate! A perfect little gift from my wonderful mom-in-law!

More Frames...

These are some frames that I made for gifts this Christmas. It was the same pattern as my previous Christmas and Halloween themed frames except done in neutral themes. I used Close to my Hearts paperpacks: Veranda, Magnifique, and Miracle. I also used CTMH embellishments: Filigree Charms, Colonial White Designer Brads, Spring Blossom Flowers, Foundry Flourishes, Miracle Stickease, and Colonial White Mini-Medley Assortment.
For the base flowers in the first three frames posted below I punched circles out of coordinating patterned paper using the CTMH 1 1/4 inch Circle Punch. Folded the circle to make a single petal, inked the edges and used glue dots to connect them altogether on the frame. Topped with a smaller paper flower and metal embellishment.

I gave two of these to my mom (one for a pic of each grandchild) and the other four went to my two sets of Grandparents and my husbands two Grandma's with a recent picture of our little girl.

Hope everyone had an awesome New Years! All the best in 2011!
