Craftin with my Girlie

The other day while baby was sleeping I decided to let S do a small project on her own. When I saw this toddler craft via pinterest, I knew she would love it.

Thanks to Pink Pistachio for the great idea!

It's just simply filling a small bottle with water and letting the child fill it with small items. I let her put in beads, some normal and some shaped as animals or objects. 

Her favorite part was to watch them float to the bottom.

 After she was done putting in the beads I added glitter. 

I let her pick the color, of course she chose pink.

She really enjoyed searching for the objects after we were all done.

She also liked to shake it up and see the glitter cloud up the water.

A great craft for my lil girlie! 

...Although now she keeps asking to open it so we can add more beads, haha.

Happy Easter Everyone!! 

Hope you are having a blessed day with family and friends remembering and celebrating that Christ has Risen!! ...and perhaps enjoying an easter egg hunt as well.

Here's the pics from this week:

1. I had to buy some pink bunny peeps for the girlie and I, a fun treat.

2. She has filled her boots on more than one occasion, those large puddles are just to darn tempting!

4. I made T a new headband out of a shirt cuff and scraps. (Post coming soon with what I did with the rest of the shirt)

Peter Cottontail and a couple friends

I decided to make the kids some home made bunnies this year for in their Easter baskets (one each for my girlies and one for my nephew). I just drew out a simple bunny shape on paper and used it as my pattern. Sewed on buttons for the noses and eyes stuck a pompom on for the tails and stitched some whiskers.

They didn't turn out quite the way I wanted.... 

kinda ugly-cute rather then cute-cute, haha!

oh well, I'm sure the kids will enjoy them!

How fast do kids grow?

 ...very fast.

So I decided to make a growth chart,

to record how much they have grown and remember how little they used to be.

This growth chart tutorial from Craft Snob has been at the top of my project list for a little while.  I have wanted to get it done sooner rather than later because the girlies are growing like weeds.

Here's how it turned out:

I used regular shoe canvas as the base and the cotton fabric is Modern Meadow Poppy from Michael Millers Secret Garden collection.

 At first, S wouldn't stand with her back against it because she was scared of the door stop (silly girl) but I finally convinced her to. She liked to point at the mark that was hers (which I had to re-do, realizing that her heels weren't right to the wall the first time).

Here are the girlies first markings, S just over 3 feet and T just over 2.

I am really happy with how it turned out and I'm glad I will have a growth chart that can move easily from house to house with us.

1. Hubby, baby and I spent the day in the city while the busy two year old stayed with some friends. It was kinda weird just being the three of us.

2. I bought some new runners and plan to start running again...regularly... soon.... I was told blogging about it will make it happen, something about putting your goals out in public. haha.

3. A new game that the girls have discovered. S loves to pull T around on her favorite blanket and T just giggles. They have lots of fun and are supervised of course!

4. It has been nice out lately so I haven't been hauling T around in her carseat. She loves to sit in the shopping cart and look around... S also enjoys the extra space she has when the carseat isn't there. It all makes for a much more enjoyable Walmart outing.
