Canvas: Love and Be loved

 

Yet another project that I did awhile ago but has not made it to the blog until now. But it was a work in progress.... Let me explain.

I wanted a painting for in our main floor bathroom. I picked a quote and decided on a seafoam green as my background color with a hint of light pink and white as accents (colors on the photos are off a bit).

Using my Cricut I cut out vinyl and originally had it looking like this:

Boring and not exactly what I was looking for, 

so it sat for a few weeks while I pondered what to do.

I eventually decided to paint over the vinyl doing the reverse stencil technique. But some of the paint leaked under the letters making it almost unreadable.

So I then outlined each letter with a sharpie pen which took forever awhile.

Finished it off with some whimsical white dots and I am now satisfied with the outcome.

 

 

 And yeah the pictures are crappy...still making due with my Iphone and a borrowed point and shoot (which was dropped in mud this summer). 

I have been doing some research, but any suggestions on a good camera??

Favorite Halloween Projects

 I haven't done any crafting for halloween this year except for putting together another wig. So I thought I would share with you my favorite projects from the past three years.

1. My Mini Album featuring me in my costumes growing up. 

2. The birdhouse transformed into a fun haunted house. 

3. And from last year, the super easy framed halloween onesie.

In other news I went to our local fall craft sale this year and came upon a really neat booth selling cool nail polish! 

I thought I would do a shout out to Bree of Mrs. P's Nail Potions because I am loving the stuff I got!

Above I am wearing Lean, Mean and Aubergine an awesome brownish/purple color from her Fall Collection as well as the Pumpkin Chai scented top coat (it is Ah-mazing, I love it!). This former nail biter is loving this combo!  

I also bought the blue/purple shifty which the girls have worn but I haven't yet.

September was the last time I posted, yikes where did that time go!

Sorry for all of you that have been checking periodically to see if there has been anything new posted. 

Life got busy.

I've got my act together and there are a few scheduled posts coming your way but I figured I would start out with instapics to give you a bit of what we've been up to this fall.

1. The girls and I drove to my parents house to spend a week there just before thanksgiving. Their yard is so beautiful in the fall. We were even able to help rake the leaves twice, which was tons of fun, and my mom made a scarecrow with the girls. Among other fun fall activities.

2. For thanksgiving we ended up going into the mountains with hubby's family and deep frying a turkey, yummy!

3. On both my side and hubby's we've decided to do home made Christmas gifts. So I've already started this little cross stitch for someone special.

4. Sent away for a free Disney planning DVD. We are heading to Disneyworld in May!! I'm sooo excited.

5. We went for a family golf day at the beginning of October. My first time out all season. We all had a blast.

6. This past weekend I was at the fall scrapbook retreat I usually go to. Record amount of pages, 36! Now I'm all caught up!
