Damask Cards

Today I thought I would share some cards that I made back when I made this card.
These are made completely out of cardstock, I stamped a 12 x 12 page with the damask image. I love how they turned out...I'm a sucker for damask!

The colors used are Close to my Heart brand:
Lagoon, Gypsy, Sweet Leaf, Colonial White, and Cocoa.

Swappin' some Cards

Back in December I was part of a card swap that Sugar and Dots and Fingerprints on the Fridge hosted. This is the card that I sent my swap partner Patty of Pattitudes along with one of my heart bookmarks.

This is the fantastic parcel I received from Patty:

It was beautifully wrapped and inside were two cards and two Christmas tags! Thank you so much Patty it was a nice surprise and such a treat! I plan on using those lovely tags on my Christmas scrapbook layout :) Go check out Patty's blog her craftsmanship wows me, her cards are amazing!...she also has some great recipes.

Thanks so much to Kimmie and Rachelle for hosting the Card Swap, what a fun idea! It's always nice to get something in the mail not to mention meet new blog friends :)

Rainbow Hearts Cardpack for my Sis!

It's my sisters birthday today! As part of her gift I made her this adorable card pack. When I saw this card design that Allison had done over at Little Lovelies I had to do it, so simple and so cute! I even bought a heart punch specifically to do this idea!

I chose to do a rainbow of hearts that have polkadots on them. Then with my sewing machine stitched down the center with white thread. Stamped the insides with the sentiment "Love generously, Praise Loudly, Live Fully.", added envelopes and tied it all together with ribbon. A perfect gift! (....or part of a gift in my case)

I'll be posting the other part of her gift shortly, I just finished it and I still need to take some photos!

Happy Birthday Little Sis, hope you had a fabulous day! Love you lots, I wouldn't trade being sisters with you for the world!

Mom, I am so Thankful for you - Emporium Card Pack

My mom has been here helping me since Thursday and she will be staying until this coming Friday. I wanted to give her something to show my appreciation (she has been a tremendous help thus far: cooking, cleaning, running after the toddler,etc.). I had made this card pack up for her a couple of weeks ago. I got the original idea from here. Vicki had used it as a Mothers Day gift and had made the box to look like a purse (I opted to get rid of the handles).

I made two each of the following six cards to go inside (with envelopes too, of course):

Close to my Heart products used:
- Emporium Paper Pack
- A handful of stamp sets
- Cocoa, Sweetleaf, and Heavenly Blue Ink
- Liquid Glass
- White Daisy and Spring Blossom Collection Flowers
- Sweet Leaf Ribbon
- Mocha Opaques
- Black Button Brads

I am so glad that my mom has been able to be here for Thia's first week it has been such a blessing. Thanks again mom!

Snips and Snails...that's what lil boys are made of

One of my closest friends had an adorable baby boy at the beginning of the month and I got to meet him last Monday. I made this cute card to accompany his gift (A sock monkey and two tigger sleepers).

This was another idea I found in last months Scrapbook Etc. magazine. I just loved the snail and had to try it. You simply cut out all the body parts and add googly eyes! For the shell you cut a large circle and then cut again to make a spiral, distress the edges and then adhere back together so that it is like a little bowl. Use a 3D dot to adhere to the card and you got an adorable snail embellishment! I'm pretty sure I'll be using this guy in a layout sometime in the future, he's too cute to pass up!

I used these CTMH products:
- Miracle and Emporium Paperpacks
- Sweetleaf, Bamboo and Heavenly Blue Ink
- Babylove Stampset
- Chocolate Waxy flax

Father's Day Cards

Well at least my Dad and Grandpa's will be able to sneek a peak on-line this year, due to the Canada Post strike I'm pretty sure they will not be receiving their cards by Monday (boohoo). But in the true words of my dad,"Better late then never!".

I used these Close to my Heart Products to create these cards:
- Kraft cardstock
- Magnifique patterened paper
- Pacifica, Vineyard Berry, and Cocoa Inks
- You and Me Stampset
- A Little Everything Stampset
- Boutique Borders Stampset
- Felicity Stampset

The buttons were just from my stash and are not Close to my Heart product.

Grad Card

Wishing all the best to my lil' cousin Carson on his graduation! (when I say lil I mean young, cause the kid is WAY taller than me!) I made this card to send to him and I hope he gets it soon (the canada post strike sucks). We won't be able to make it home for his grad because well I'll be popping out a baby within days of it and it is 8 hours away...although it would've been nice to revisit my highschool and see some old friends!

I simply made this card out of cardstock in my 'scrapbox' and threw some sassy strands and foam letters on. The actual idea of the 'color cube' (for lack of a better description) was from last months Scrapbook etc. magazine. They actually had it done up as a super cute baby card. I have plans to use this design again as it is not only cool looking but simple!

Anyways congrats Carson, and enjoy what you have left of your highschool career, you will be remembering these days for years to come!

Cards for Six Grand Moms!

These are the two cards I made multiples of for Mothers Day - sent to all the special women that have made our existence possible!
Above is the card that I made for both my mom and my husbands mom, below is the one I made for our four grandma's(being 'great grand-moms' to our girlie!). Each card made complete by including a recent picture of our daughter and a special note to each wonderful lady!

Supplies used:
- random patterned paper from my scrap box (it might be MyMindsEye but not absolutely sure)
- Bohemian Alphabet and Tiny Typewriter Alphabet Stampsets - CTMH
- Juniper and Hollyhock Ink -CTMH
- Green Sparkles

I liked how they turned out, I think the paper ruffle and the bling really add to the simple layout, don't you?

Celebration Robot and Fox

Recently I needed to replenish my stock of birthday cards that I have on hand (I hate when those birthdays just sneak up and you have no time to whip up something). I needed to make cards that were for both genders and for any age. So I started with the two adorable stamps, the robot and the fox, and used the left over paper from THIS layout, added a sentiment and some bling...tada 15 cards later I am sitting pretty for when a birthday strikes!

Aren't they so fun! I've had the fox stamp for awhile but I just bought the robot and I love him! I was so excited to use him on a project, you may be seeing more of him in the future!

The stampsets used:
- Live Loud Collection Robot Rockin~ Imaginisce (robot)
- Twitterpated Collection Foxy~ Imaginisce (fox)
- Something Splendid~ CTMH (sentiment)
- A Little Everything~ CTMH (sentiment)
- Unity~CTMH (sentiment)
- Celebrate the Occasion~ CTMH (sentiment)
Other supplies: Cocoa Ink and Smoothie marker~ both CTMH

Wings Card, Thinking of You

A card I made recently using the new Wishes paper pack from Close to my Heart. This card was fun to make because I had a certain person in mind and wanted to make it special!
I stamped the background cardstock with the damask image from the Wings stampset, and I love how it turned out! I also used the same stamp on the inside of the card with the Sweet Leaf Ink. I two-toned the butterfly from the Find Your Style stamp set for the front and popped it up.
Come to think of it saying I used the paper pack is kind of a stretch because the only piece of pattern paper I used was for the paper ruffle, the rest is cardstock!

Supply list:
- Wishes Paper Pack
- Vineyard Berry, Sweet Leaf, and Colonial White Cardstock
- Vineyard Berry, Sweet Leaf, and Black Ink
- White Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, and heating gun
- Find Your Style stamp set (butterfly on front, high-heel shoe and sentiment on envelope)
- Wings stamp set (background stamping on front and inside)
- Childhood Portrait stamp set (sentiment on front)
- True Friends stamp set (inside sentiment)
- Sparkles*
- Black Mini medley collection
- Paper flowers*

* not Close to my Heart product

I get to do the Wings Workshop tomorrow night with a few girlfriends so I'm really looking forward to that! Hopefully I'll have some photos to post...

Baby Boy Shower Invites

Back when I was making all those cards for that sale a friend had called me to see if I had any baby boy cards that I would be willing to sell her so she could give them as shower invites. It was kind of ironic because I had started these cards the night before and was finishing them that evening that she had contacted me. A couple of tweeks and instead of being congrats cards they ended up being what she needed, baby shower invites!

The supplies I used (all Close to my Heart unless otherwise listed):
- Love You Forever stampset
- Love Begins with a Smile stampset (from Topstitch WOTG)
- Topstitch Paper Pack
- Heavenly Blue, Chocolate, Sweet Leaf, and Creme Brulee Inks
- Spring Button Assortment
- Colonial White Mini Medley Collection
- Chocolate ribbon
- Blending Pen
*non CTMH: American Crafts Brand Baby Stampset- 'Babyshower' sentiment

I made two of each of the cards below:
