Goals are Dreams with Deadlines

Goals are dreams with deadlines....and mine is June 30th! Yup, I finally have my C-section booked and it is now officially the countdown to baby #2's arrival! I have so much still left on my project list to get done before this little one comes (I don't suspect much crafting will be happening in July or even into August).

Here is my goal list thus far (I seem to add to it everyday!):

* Finish setting up baby's room (not actually decorating because I want to know the gender first)
* Refinish bedside table (a recent garage sale find)
* Make a 'Big Sister' shirt
* Make Canada Day applique for a red newborn sleeper
* Make a new diaper bag (this one seems a little far fetched, but we'll see if I can get it done)
* Finish setting up and decorating guest bedroom (my mom is staying for a week when baby arrives! yippee!)
* Photo collage wall (something that I've been putting together for the last month)
* Stock up the freezer with some ready-to-go meals
* Finish commissioned Butterfly paintings
* Catch up on Scrapbooking
* Make and send out Father's day cards and presents
* Oh, and keep up with my blog...

I have a lot on my plate for the next four weeks (nevermind general house upkeep and quality time with my little girlie and hubby!). Hopefully I don't put myself into preterm labor, haha... I won't be upset if I don't complete this list but wouldn't it be grand if I did!

I also need to get outside and soak in the Vitamin D! Here is a fun picture from a recent summer walk:

Slowly Getting Things Done...

So I've been putting our house together lately: hanging pictures, putting up shelves, etc.. It seems I had a lot more ambition when we first moved in but as my pregnancy gets further along I am slowing down (Nap when the toddler naps right?). So anyways this is where I decided to hang the embroidery piece from this post. In between a recent family photo and one from last summer(our favorite pic of the three of us). I decided to hang it in my daughters "toy corner" of the main living room. She enjoys pointing out mommy, daddy, and 'dee' (herself) so I thought it was a perfect spot!




Hopefully I get to more crafting this week, the days are getting away on me! Happy Tuesday everyone!

Three Little Monkey's

I did this trio of monkey canvas' in preparation for the new baby. If it is a boy these will be hung in the baby's room (I also have fabric picked out for this color scheme), if it is a girl these will make there way down to the play room. Hence why they are not actually hanging on a wall yet!






These were done in Acrylic paint on 11x14 canvas'. I saw the idea for these monkey paintings somewhere on etsy and of course I can't find the shop again so I am unable to give credit to a specific person, but do know that this was not my original idea!

Vintage Squirrels

I found these cute little vintage squirrels at a garage sale recently. They were a steal of a deal, 50 cents for the pair! I had just bought this bright green flower tin (another deal, $2 at Liquidation World) and had got this beautiful Pink Gerber Daisy to go in it. I knew that these squirrels were meant to be a part of this bright centerpiece!






It's pouring rain here so today I made a fort with my little girl ( the kind made out of kitchen chairs and a sheet) and we read stories and played with her babies....not to mention we both had an afternoon nap. That's what rainy days are for, right? Hope you're having a happy Monday!

A Family Portrait of Sorts

When I saw this fabulous idea I knew I had to do it! A bird family portrait painting. With a little birdie representing each member of our family (..of course our family is still three but in a month it will be four so I just went ahead and painted a bird for baby too). I also left branch room for any other 'hatchlings' that show up in the future.

I absolutely love how it turned out! It was such a quick and easy project that I feel like doing more of them.
