Guest Bedroom

Finally I am able to post the Guest Bedroom, sorry for the wait it was a long time coming. There is not much to it but there were a couple of homemade projects that I wanted to incorporate.

The duvet (from Ikea) used to be in the master bedroom but when I got a new set this one made it's way to the guest bedroom (check this post out to see the replacement bedding). The colors in the Duvet became the inspiration for this room: white, purple, grey, and tan. On the bed is the bolster pillow from this post. Above the bed is a decorative piece that I found in the clearance bin at Winners for $11, it just needed to be touched up with paint. I think it works great to draw your eye to the bed...somewhat like a headboard.

On the nightstand (which I spruced up in this post) sits an alarm clock, an inspirational quote in a frame, a little birdie tealight holder and the ruffle lamp(from this post).

On the wall facing the bed I repainted some old frames and stuck two flower pictures from an old calendar in them.

The wall next to the bed houses the closet and a wall light (not pictured), so there was no room for anything to be put there.

The curtain was actually a shower curtain that I picked up in the Ikea As-is section I thought the grey leaves would match into the color scheme. I cut, hemmed and made a rod pocket, a cheap and easy way to give some privacy from the outside world!

All that's missing is a bed skirt and I'm determined to find one for cheap. Instead of keeping you waiting I thought I better post without the last piece of the puzzle.

So that's it, our guest bedroom! A clean-cut, relaxing get away for those that come to visit!
